Announce (STANAG4748) with technical specification in ANEP-87 Edition A, Version 2

We are very happy to inform you that a revised version of the JANUS standard (STANAG4748) is now available with technical specification in ANEP-87 Edition A, Version 2.
The new version of the standard can be freely download from the NATO Standardization Office Portal at: https://nso.nato.int/nso/nsdd/main/standards?search=4748

With respect to Version 1 of ANEP-87, the following addition/changes have been introduced:
  1. More frequency bands have been added;
  2. The definition of data messages for various applications has been included in Annex D. Several of these applications have been successfully tested during various at sea trials organized by CMRE and Nations and during the past JANUS Interoperability Festivals;
  3. The formulas to compute the reservation and repetition interval (in Annex B and C, respectively) have been revised.
  4. Wording has been improved.

Backward compatibility with ANEP-87 Edition A Version 1 is maintained by verifying the version number field in the JANUS baseline packet.
Version 1 of ANEP-87 technical specification applies to JANUS baseline packets with a version number up to 3, i.e., formulas in Annex E must be used.
For JANUS baseline packets with version number 4 or higher, formulas in Annex B and C must be used.

We will start updating the JANUS wiki and software and we will keep you informed when a new release will be made available.
