JANUS ver 3 is out and we have a new Matlab and C toolkit!

Greetings to everyone in the JANUS community!

We are very pleased to announce that following the workshop last October (at which a number of significant refinements were made to the JANUS coding standard) JANUS ver 3 is now out! Technical details are being uploaded in the documents section, scheduling lookup tables and bit allocations being the first steps.

We have also been hard at work to implement the latest standard into a ver 3.0.0 toolbox, which we have recently uploaded in both Matlab and C versions into the downloads/Code section of this site.

The new code examples provide both synchronisation and Doppler estimation based on the initial 32-chip preamble, so do not rely on any wake-up tones being present (which are optional). You are invited to try the code out and improve it at will, but remember to share your upgraded code on this site with other users!

Best Regards from the JANUS team at CMRE,
John & Gio (with a great deal of help from Luigi!)

Greetings, again, to everyone in the JANUS community!

We are very pleased to announce that we (Giovanni and Luigi) have been hard at work to improve the first release and have now posted ver 3.0.1 implementing a better Doppler compensator, greater efficiency, improved detection (in theory!) and lotss more, all of which now even compiles under Windows.

You are invited to try the code out and improve it at will, but remember to share your upgraded code on this site with other users!

There is also a readme file with example scripts and compilation instructions for you to read, cut, paste, run and enjoy!

Best Regards from the JANUS team at CMRE,
John & Gio
